Japan

Hiroshima

Hiroshima was a different experience. As harrowing and awkward as it was fascinating. Completely different realities, but it did remind me of Cambodia, in that it was a place struggling past its tragic history. The Museum of Peace was overrun with students, but despite the overall din of child noises, it was haunting to see and read everything, especially the video (below) where the bomb’s path is followed. I was standing only a block or two from the epicenter which I watched on the map just get decimated. Weird feeling, especially with our current (lack of) leadership and the issues with North Korea (and how close Japan is to N. Korea).

After, I went to Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkie-en Gardens, which were calming, before traipsing back to the train station.
