A “Man from the Future” arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence.
There are some movies that pretty much defy characterization, and to try and talk about them, even to get someone to go watch, can do more harm than good. I accidentally saw Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die! knowing nothing about it, other than Sam Rockwell was in it. And that was enough. I didn’t even watch the trailer. And because I knew nothing, everything that unfolded was completely unexpected, in the most fun and delightful ways.
So, I’m not going to say much about this movie. I don’t even want you to watch the trailer posted above. Just go see it. If you need to know more than Sam Rockwell, well Gore Verbinski directs and he did one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (one of the good ones I hear, I don’t know, never saw any of them), it also features great actors like Juno Temple, Zazie Beetz, Michael Peña and MVP Haley Lu Richardson.
If you like your movies weird, the comedy dark (almost pitch black in some cases), and the experience ridiculous, then just check it out.
